Anyone interested in helping the tens of thousands of people affected by the flooding in Cusco, Peru? I know people affected and they could use help. Any proceeds from photos purchased at my PrintRoom site will go straight to my friend who is helping feed hundreds of children each day in the rural areas near Cusco. The girl in the photo below lives in the town that is currently the evacuation site for residents and foreign tourists airlifted from Machu Picchu.

Living in Peru.com reported Jan. 30: “At present, rains in Cusco have left more than 23,000 homeless people and more than 37,000 affected people; more than 16,000 hectares of crops have been damaged, and  nine bridges collapsed.”

While working in San Jose, Costa Rica in late 2007, I had some fun with street photography. Once in a while, as I walked back to the office from an assignment, I would shoot from the hip or with the camera slung over my shoulder, facing behind me, trying to get people in their most genuine moment.

A few months ago, I went back through my archives to find some photos I had not considered for printing or any other projects. Here is the series I found from one walk through downtown San Jose.
