HELP PERU FLOOD VICTIMS!!

The Huber family is in touch with people affected by the catastrophic flooding in the Cusco region of Peru. Machu Picchu and the 4,000 tourists airlifted out made the news, but about 35,000 or more homes have been destroyed and families displaced in the rural, poor areas surrounding the city of Cusco.

Proceeds from prints purchased will go to help our friends rebuild and feed, clothe and provide school supplies to children. Visit Chris’s PrintRoom site to order prints.

Welcome to Christopher Huber Photography. This site features some of my artwork, photography from various travel experiences, as well as of the people I have encountered along the way. In addition, this site showcases some of my day-to-day work as a sports and features photographer.

Feel free to comment on photos or blog posts. I appreciate any constructive criticism or new ideas. Scroll down for “Photo of the Day” posts or click the tabs above for galleries. Order prints at www.chuberphoto.printroom.com.

I recently entered the Society of Professional Journalists’ annual contest in the photography portfolio category. Check out the top 10 selects.

Shot this as I was waiting to begin a luncheon at Seattle’s Benaroya Hall last week. The sun came out and lit up the front commons beautifully.

Anyone interested in helping the tens of thousands of people affected by the flooding in Cusco, Peru? I know people affected and they could use help. Any proceeds from photos purchased at my PrintRoom site will go straight to my friend who is helping feed hundreds of children each day in the rural areas near Cusco. The girl in the photo below lives in the town that is currently the evacuation site for residents and foreign tourists airlifted from Machu Picchu.

Living in Peru.com reported Jan. 30: “At present, rains in Cusco have left more than 23,000 homeless people and more than 37,000 affected people; more than 16,000 hectares of crops have been damaged, and  nine bridges collapsed.”
